Roger Mattfield moved to Wisconsin in 1954. He married Hildegard Mueller Wagner in 1980 in Wisconsin. He was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light Co. in 1958, retiring as Control Room Operator at the Edgewater Generating Station in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, traveling and fishing trips with family and friends.
Roger died in Madison, Wisconsin and is buried in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Kohler, Wisconsin (plot - Garden of Valor). He is survived by his wife; his mother, Selma Sundstrom; six children, Eileen (Dean) Doro, Michael (Julie) Mattfield, Patricia (Frederick) Hertel, Deborah (Jeffrey) Cole, Susan Mattfield, and Renee (Douglas) Bramstedt; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six brothers, Norman, Herman (Virginia), Robert, Gerald, Weldon, and Meloy; five sisters, Sylvia (Roman) Norworatzky, Delores Eigenberger, Violet (Lyle) Hanson, Joyce (Mike) Gonzalez, and Janet (Robert) Delich; step-children, Frederick (Melissa) Wagner, Jennifer Wagner, and Sandra (Dennis) Dekker; and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman; two brothers, Maynard and Raymond.
