Norman grew up in the rural Drummond and Superior, Wisconsin areas.
Norman was a longtime resident of Bovey, Minnesota.
He worked his entire career for the Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railroads in various locations across the states of Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Minnesota.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and especially took great joy in attending to his garden in Bovey, Minnesota.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Templeton Grande; a son, Paul; daughter-in-law, Sue; parents, Norman and Margaret; and a brother, Robert.
Norman is survived by his sons, Jim (Juvy), Eric, and Bill (Steph); daughters, Kate (Karyn) and Marty Johnson Grande; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Norman is buried in Lakeview Cemetery at Coleraine, Minnesota. (Block 153)
