Elmer's military occupation was truck driver light. He qualified as a parachutist and made 6 jumps. He had one event, where a guy got tangled in his chute lines, but it ended okay. Elmer served in the 11th Airborne Division following World War II. He was employed by Conoco and retired from the Billings Refinery in 1985 after 32 years of service. Elmer was an avid bowler and enjoyed camping, fishing, and horseshoes.
