Reynold Latvala was raised in the Tamarack area of Aitkin County, Minnesota. He was a retired employee of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and had worked in the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area. His wife, Marlene (Berg) Latvala died earlier and he moved to Deer River with his children in 1967-68.
Reynold died in Duluth, Minnesota and is buried in Round Lake Cemetery, Aitkin Co., Minnesota. He is survived by his children, Tim Latvala, Susan Wicklund, Donna Jerry, Abram Latvala, and Dean Latvala; seven brothers; five sisters; and seven grandchildren.
