Ted attended Pengilly grade school in Pengilly, Minnesota, Olcott Junior High School in Marble, Minnesota, and Greenway High School in Coleraine, Minnesota.
He and Vivian Jean Jones were married on February 26, 1949, in Marble, Minnesota.
Following his discharge from the Navy at age 19, Ted worked for the M.A. Hanna Mining for 34 years prior to his retirement. He had worked as a mechanic in the Pierce Mine in Hibbing, Minnesota and as a foreman in the pelletizing plant of the Butler Mine.
Ted was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1061 of Bovey, Minnesota, the Nashwauk American Legion of Nashwauk, Minnesota, the Sons of Norway and was a lifelong member of the DFL party.
Ted is survived by his wife, Vivian; two daughters, Rita (Steve) Peters and Gwen Gareri; a son, Ted (Marysia); six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; his best friend, partner and cousin, James C. Blaine; three brothers, Lester, Edmund "Bud" (Marlys) and Donald; and friends, Joe Gareri and Darel Johnson.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William; and a sister, Gwen Demarais.
Ted died at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery at Coleraine, Minnesota.
