    Charles was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Technical Association of Pulp and Paper Industry, and was the recipient of the prestigious Englehard Award.

    Charles moved to Naples, Florida in 1987.

    Surviving relatives include his wife, Connie; daughters, Carol Smith, Margaret Christensen, Elizabeth Wallen, and Connie Richardson; sisters, Caroline Hood and Eleanor Daley; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    He worked at Blandin Paper Company in Grand Rapids, Minnesota for 39 years.

    Charles passed away at his residence in Landmark Estates in Naples, Florida after a lengthy illness. He is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 1.9.4.1)
