Darryl attended schools in Calumet and Coleraine, Minnesota.

After school he was married and then joined the Army. Following the Army, Darryl moved to Idaho where he worked as a well driller. He moved back to Pengilly, Minnesota in 1972 and once back he worked for the various mining companies--MinnTac, Hanna, and Jones and Laughlin.

He married Linda (Bender) Morrison in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on August 8, 1998.

Darryl enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, daughter, Tammy; his first wife, Cora; and his grandparents, Andersons and Waters.

Darryl is survived by his wife, Linda; parents, Arlene (Reino) Lantinen; son, Cary; daughters, Renee Morrison and Cynthia MacLoud; brothers, Elmer (Sandy) and Perry (Mary); Uncle Greg Waters; three nieces; one nephew; one goddaughter, one godson; stepbrothers, Mike, Roger, Mark, and David Lantinen; and a step sister, Elaine Lantinen.

Darryl died at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. He was cremated. A Celebration of Life was held at Range Funeral Home in Hibbing, Minnesota. No burial information is available at this time.
