Jack grew up and attended school in Barronett, Wisconsin.
He married Elaine Gygli in 1942.
Following his discharge in 1945, Jack worked various jobs in Wisconsin and Minnesota. In 1953, he moved to Keewatin, Minnesota, where he worked for M.A. Hanna Mining.
In 1963, Jack and Elaine moved north of Nashwauk, Minnesota and later moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 2007.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Bruce Jerry; and two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; one daughter, Janet (Ted) Carlson; three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Jack died at Grand Village in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He was cremated and burial was in Nashwauk Cemetery at Nashwauk, Minnesota.
