Wayne lived his entire life in Bigfork, Minnesota.
He was a quartermaster of the Bigfork Veterans of Foreign Wars, mayor of Bigfork from 1964 to 1966, and was a member of Bigfork Lutheran Church where he was president, treasurer, trustee, and a Sunday School teacher.
Wayne started Freeberg Brothers Logging in the late 1950s with his twin brother Wendell.
He was united in marriage to Donna Probst on May 9, 1959, at Bigfork, Minnesota.
Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Donna; daughters, Carla Freeberg and Laurie Lease; son Curtis; sisters Ida Olson and Esther Johnson; twin brother Wendell; and two grandchildren.
Wayne died in Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Bigfork Cemetery at Bigfork, Minnesota. (Third Addition, Block 34). No photo of grave marker is available at this time.
